Like your favourite jeans, this stunning garment looks and swings better the more it softens as you wear it. Denim's workwear tradition suits a plain daywear (or matching denim) sporran, a jacobite shirt, or an aran jersey. Or do it your own way! Our fashion kilt is fully tailored to the highest standards, but this lighter garment is designed to sit comfortably on the hips and comes with adjustment straps. Choice of length comes down to how much knee you wish to show, but midway on the knee is probably about right. And at no extra charge you can even specify funky orange stitching! How great is that?

Scotweb’s MD, Dr Nicholas J Fiddes, has written a free illustrated e-book, as a gift to help kilt lovers everywhere. In simple non-technical language it covers every aspect of buying a kilt, choosing your tartan, and accessorising an outfit for every occasion.
As a Governor of the Scottish Tartans Authority, and founder of the world’s first company to market kilts on the Internet (yes, Scotweb) no one is better qualified to offer such advice. Impartial and objective, this is a personal work and is not a Scotweb publication.
Really smashing kilt. I went for the 5-yard option with orange stitching. The denim is of a good quality and heavy. The orange stitching really sets the garment apart and makes it unique. I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend the denim kilt wholeheartedly.

The kilt was magnificent - The denim was HARD. I ignored the direction for dry cleaning and washed the kilt about 4 times on the cold water - delicate cycle. Bingo - my kilt is now just the best!
Wonderful - thank you!

Now this is really fun! My only excuses for not awarding 5 stars is the amount of dressing used in the fabric which takes some getting out. The initial stiffness can be removed in the traditional way that you would use for jeans... take a bath in it. The "Pure New Wool" label can be safely ignored: no shrinkage after 5 washes and VASTLY improved comfort. The catalouge illustration does not do this kilt justice - the gold stitching is a delight. I chose the 8yd option which I suspect makes ironing trickier but it's worth it. The weight means that you may have to buy extra pegs when hanging it out to dry.
